Spruced-Up Sunday Card

This is the "stepped up" version of yesterday's card, all spruced up for Sunday!

While yesterday's card was a single layer card,
today's version has some added layers,
giving the sentiment center stage with just a little more punch.

For both cards, I stamped the background with Sheltering Tree

with the sentiment from Fabulous Four.

Today, I added a Garden Green layer behind the Sheltering Tree background, and a Rich Razzleberry layer behind the Fabulous Four sentiment.  Both ovals were cut with the Big Shot, using Ovals Collections Framelits.  Instead of a Razzleberry button and bow, I added 4 green Candy Dots and a simple knot with the Rich Razzleberry 1/4" Cotton Ribbon.  The sentiment layers were popped up with Dimensionals.

ALL of these items will continue to be available for at least another year, as they are all in the new 2015-16 catalog (Yippee!)

MONEY SAVING TIP:  If you have been thinking about getting a Big Shot, this is a good time to do it!  It will be available at the old price through June 2, but on June 3 the price is going up $10. Be sure to use the order # that is listed below to get it at the lower price.

JUNE 2  is just around the corner - day after tomorrow!  The awesome thing about Tuesday is the opportunity to order from all three catalogs.  Yes, you can order your favorite retiring items as well as the new goodies.  Want to check those retiring products one more time?  Get out your pencil and paper and take notes:

Simple Saturday Single Layer Card

I have a simple, single layer card for you today.
This could be a birthday card or a congratulations card ~ anything that deserves a celebration!

I paired Rich Razzleberry with a combination of Garden Green and Wild Wasabi.
The stamp sets are Sheltering Tree and Fabulous Four.
I masked off an oval using a piece cut from the Ovals Collections Framelits and stamped the leaves from Sheltering Tree all around the oval onto the Whisper White base.
A Rich Razzleberry button with a bow of Rich Razzleberry 1/4" Cotton Ribbon are attached with Glue Dots.

Stop by tomorrow to see how I step it up for Spruced-up Sunday.  A few extra changes will give this card a little bit more "wow!" factor.  See you then!

Have a great weekend!

Something borrowed, something BLUE

Here's another wedding card for you today.  It too has a gift card enclosure, the same layout as the blackberry and gray one I posted earlier.  If you missed that one, you can see it HERE.

I know I had previously decided that our new In Color, Mint Macaron, seemed more green to me (see it HERE), but look how nicely it pairs up with Pool Party and Bermuda Bay!  Both blues have undertones of green, so I shouldn't be surprised.  I love it's versatility!

This Designer Series Paper in Mint Macaron comes from the Cherry on Top DSP stack.  It's layered on top of Whisper White, Bermuda Bay, with a base of Pool Party.

Stamp sets:  Your Perfect Day (Bermuda Bay), Making Spirits Bright (Encore Silver).  The extra sparkles come from Dazzling Details glitter glue.

Inside, more layers of Whisper White and Bermuda Bay cardstock, and a folded over pocket secured with Sticky Strip to hold a gift card for the wedding couple.  An extra stamp of silver champagne glasses on the envelope make it festive.

All of these items are available for purchase today, with the exception of Cherry on Top, which will be available on Tuesday, June 2.  Just click on the items below to order yours!

Have a great day...  go stamp something!

Until next time ~

Tip Top Taupe is Great!

Well, this is not a typical Karen card.  I wanted to pair the new In Color, Tip Top Taupe, with black - and this bold graphic card emerged!

The base is Tip Top Taupe (available to everyone on June 2) and the first layer is Basic Black.  I cut the striped strips from Cherry on Top Designer Series Paper Stack (also available June 2).

That bold sentiment is from our new I Think You're Great clear stamp set.  I heat embossed it with black embossing powder to give it an extra punch.  And punch, I did - with a 1 3/4" circle punch, followed by a 2" circle punch of Taupe, then a slightly larger Circles Framelits for the white.

I chose not to embellish it at all.  Somehow buttons and bows just didn't seem to go with this graphic design!  I think it would be a great card to give a guy.  I'm still deciding whether to put a message inside - maybe a thank you stamp of some sort, but that perfect something just hasn't hit me yet.  I'll have to sit on it awhile!

What do you think of my card?  It's very different for me.  I kinda like it :-)  Ha!  I'll probably be back to buttons and bows tomorrow!

Thanks for stopping by!  Until next time ~

A Cherry Cupcake

I have a little girl in mind for this sweet little birthday card, but who wouldn't love a cherry cupcake on their birthday?!!

This 4 1/4" square card is made to fit a regular sized envelope.  The base is our new Watermelon Wonder cardstock, and the cherry layer is from our new Cherry on Top Designer Series Paper Stack.  A Cucumber Crush frame made with Squares Collections Framelits puts the spotlight on this darling little cupcake, made with the Cupcake Builder Punch.  The bow is from the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits.  I cropped it out of the new Delightful Dijon Envelope Paper!  We have so many fun new things to use...I'm like a kid in a candy cupcake shop!  Note:  These new items will be available to order on Tuesday, June 2, 2015.

Both the cupcake paper and frosting are from the Cherry on Top DSP Stack, and the tiny hearts are from the Hearts Border Punch.  I sweetened up the frosting with a little Dazzling Details glitter glue.

The Happy Birthday sentiment comes from Remembering Your Birthday.  I masked off the rest of the stamp to isolate this birthday wish.

Can you see the "sugar sprinkles" on the frosting?  It's very sparkly in person!

I hope you are inspired by my cherry cupcake birthday card.  It was fun to make!

Continue to enjoy your 3-day weekend!  We are off to the ball field to see our All-Star Grandson do what he loves best!  Until next time ~
Happy Stamping!

Don't "Crimp" My Style!

Before I describe to you how I made this fun birthday card, I have to tell you that I got the idea from Brandy Cox.  She has several videos that she has made to teach us how to do certain techniques, and when I saw this one I knew I needed to try it.

I have a friend whose birthday is on Monday and this card is for her.  She loves all kinds of texture on her cards.  Although you may not be able to tell by this photo, the striped section of the card is crimped with a crimping tool.  It makes it look like corregated paper.  You know how girls used to crimp their hair (maybe they still do, I don't know) - that is what this looks like.

I used Early Espresso for the base, Very Vanilla layered with Espresso, and Calypso Coral for the flower with Old Olive for the leaves.

To color the crimped paper, I simply ran my Espresso pad over the raised portion of the paper.

The greeting came from the stamp set, Amazing Birthday.  The flower was punched with the Flower Medallion Punch, the Petite Petals Punch, and the 1/2" Circle Punch.  The leaves are just another flower from the Petal Potpourri stamp set.  I cut out 2 of the petals to create the leaves.

So thank you to Brandy for sharing this great card technique and layout.  I love it!

Have a wonderful Memorial Day weekend!  Until next time ~

Hexagons for Pals Paper Arts

What a fun challenge for Pals Paper Arts today!  Kerry Willard Bray provided us with this sketch:

I chose to use a Whisper White Note Card and Envelope and I decorated it with the hexagon print in Back to Black Designer Series Paper.

Daffodil Delight cardstock is embossed with the Perfect Polka Dots Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.

Three hexagon shapes are stamped with the Six-Sided Sampler then punched out with the Hexagon Punch.

Two Candy Dots and Whisper White Baker's Twine finish off the look.

You can purchase any of these items today by going to my online store.  Just click on the picture below or any of the links above.  Keep in mind that the Back to Black DSP and the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder are only available until June 2, when they will be retired.  Don't miss out!

You can view all of the entries to the Pals Paper Arts challenge by clicking HERE.  There are some amazingly talented stampers in our community!

Thanks for stopping by my blog today.  See you next time!

New In Color: Cucumber Crush

I'm playing with my new stuff today!  Lovin' this Cucumber Crush green.  It's so bright and cheerful.  It's going to be one of my new favorites :-)  I know I probably say that a lot.  There is so much to love!

This new birthday stamp set is Happy Birthday, Everyone, a Host Set, and will be available on June 2.  You can get it with a qualifying workshop order.  It has several phrases to choose from so it is very versatile.  And do you love it with this Cherry on Top Designer Series Paper Stack?  The green paper with the white dashes is the back of the balloon print.  I appreciate how Stampin' Up! put coordinating prints back to back on their new Stacks.  Another nice feature is that they now come in 6" x 6" so you have more paper to play with and fit on your projects.  Nice!

I fussy cut around 3 of the balloons on the DSP and attached them with a Dimensional.  The "to you" is cut with the Window Word Punch and backed with Daffodil Delight paper also cut with that punch.  A Daffodil Delight Candy Dot adds balance to the card.  And a white gel pen adds a little something with dashes around the right side of the card.

If today is your birthday, this card is for you!  Happy Birthday to you!!

Until next time ~
Happy Stamping!

3 x 3's For My Friends (A Sneak Peek)

Each month I stick a little surprise in the bags for my friends that buy Stampin' Up! products through me.  They are often something that I know will be new to them or something to give them a new idea for a product they have purchased.  This month I made these little 3" x 3" cards featuring the new In Colors and some products that will be available on June 2nd, along with some things that are currently for sale.

All three cards use the star stamps from the new You're So Sweet stamp set.
That cute little bow is a thinlit die from the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits Dies (available now).

This one has a sweet little print from the new Cherry on Top Designer Series Paper Stack.
The ink colors are Watermelon Wonder and So Saffron.

This one is Cucumber Crush with a Mint Macaron star in the center, over another print from Cherry on Top.

This last one is Mint Macaron cardstock and a print from Confetti Celebrations (available until June 2nd).
The center star is stamped with Smoky Slate.

Stampin' Up! also sells white envelopes that are made to go with 3" x 3" cards!

I would adore adding you to my mailing list of customers!  A minimum purchase of $35.00 will put you on my preferred customer list and ensure that you will receive a surprise from me each month that you place a minimum order.  It's something different every month and it's always something from my heart!  You can easily place an order by clicking on the Shop Now button at the top of this post.  If you would like any of the products you see in my posted projects, simply click on the picture of the product on the carousel below.  So easy! Remember, several of the products I used today are Sneak Peeks only.  They will be available to order on June 2.  The items listed below are available now.

Thanks for checking in!  See you back here real soon ~

Is it green or is it blue?

I love - l o v e - this new In Color, Mint Macaron!  But I'm confused...is it green or is it blue?  When I put it next to my blues, it looks green.  When I put it with my greens, it has a very bluish tint.  So I pulled out my greens that have blue undertones and I think it goes quite nicely with them!  These colors are ( top down) Mint Macaron (available June 2nd, Wild Wasabi, and Garden Green.  These colors together reminded me of my back yard - different shades of green with watery blue - so I decided on this grassy silhouette stamp from Serene Silhouettes to be my focal point.

Have you checked out this week's Weekly Deals?   This punch is for sale this week, through Monday.  It is one of my more recent purchases and a new favorite!  If you don't have it yet, take advantage of the 25% discount and get it now!  It's the Hexagon Punch - so fun for stacking, mixing and matching, creating these ombre-effect cards.  There are many ways to use it.  And it has a coordinating stamp set that is carrying over to the new catalog (yippee!) called Six-Sided Sampler.  The ribbon I used on this card is also on the Weekly Deals.  It's Wild Wasabi Seam Binding Ribbon.  So soft and beautiful!  I love working with it.

A peek at the inside shows a stamp from Flowering Flourishes.  I used Very Vanilla as the base for the hexagons and the inside, for a softer look than Whisper White.

For more looks with the Hexagon Punch, here is another card I previously created with this punch and the Six-Sided Sampler stamp set:

I made this one with a combination of Soft Suede, Crumb Cake, and Real Red.  Some of the hexagons were stamped and punched, others were just punched out from Designer Series Papers.  The sentiment is framed with an embossing folder that is very similar to another item in our Weekly Deals called Fun Frames Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.  Click on the links to see all of the specials this week.  Take advantage of the sale and order before the end of Monday, May 18.  And of course, I would very much appreciate you listing me as Demonstrator when you place your order!  Thank you!

Have a wonderful weekend!

Happy Graduation in Green and Gold!

Our local high school's colors are green and gold, so I made this graduation card for the upcoming occasion.  This is an X-Fold card and it measures 5 1/2" square, so a custom envelope (yay for our Envelope Punch Board!) will be needed.  The X-Fold houses a pull-out card.  Are you ready? . . .

And that pull-out card is home for a gift card for your graduate!

There is plenty of room on the back for your personal note of congratulations.  Make it in your grad's school colors and add a gift card of your choice.

Full details of the card - measurements and instructions - will be featured in my Tuesday newsletter.  If you haven't yet signed up for it and would like to receive it, free, to your inbox on Tuesday - click onto Contact Me, fill out the short form, and indicate Newsletter in the pull down box.

Thanks for stopping by!  Until next time ~
Happy Stamping!

A Wedding Toast

A toast to the new bride and groom!
And what better way to congratulate the new couple than with a gift card or cash
tucked right inside the card...

This beautiful Blackberry Bliss Designer Series Paper is from Park Lane, available through the end of this month.  I layered it onto Basic Gray and Very Vanilla to go with the Bride's wedding color scheme.

Your Perfect Day and B.Y.O.P.  provided the sentiments and tiny flower.
The champagne glasses are from the Making Spirits Bright set
(last year's Holiday Catalog, but still available at a discount)
and the leaves are from Painted Petals, a beautiful set of flowers and leaves that will be retiring June 1st.  Your Perfect Day will also be retiring - so sad - but you get get these sets now before they're gone by clicking on the product picture below.

Thank you so much for stopping in today.  Have a wonderful Thursday!  Leave me a comment - I'd love to hear your thoughts about my project or other retiring products.
Until next time ~

Pals Blog Hop: Out With the Old...

Welcome to the Pals Blog Hop for May where we are preparing for the retirement of some Stampin' Up! products.  Though it may be goodbye to some very loved supplies, it will make room for the much anticipated new catalog products.  We hope you enjoy the Pals' creative projects.
You may just be starting the blog hop or may have come from Natalie Bradley at Soiree by Natalie Bradley, number 12 on the Pals Hop.  If you get off track at any time, the full lineup below will help you move along from blog to blog so you see all the projects.

Trying to narrow down my favorite retiring product was impossible!  I have so many favorites!  I had to decide, though, so what did I do?  I picked one stamp set - Too Kind -and made five cards, one in each of the lovely retiring In Colors.  First up:

Pistachio Pudding!  The paper in this card is from Confetti Celebrations Designer Series Paper.  It is layered on top of Island Indigo.  The 2-step stamping on the flower also has these 2 colors.  It's hard to see in the picture, but I added a little sparkle to the flowers. Next:

Coastal Cabana!  I used the print from Best Year Ever DSP, and paired it with Pool Party for a tone-on-tone card.  Next up:

Strawberry Slush!  Paired with Blushing Bride and layered on top of a piece from All Abloom Designer Series Paper Stack (love!). Next up:

Baked Brown Sugar (yes, please!) paired with So Saffron.  The DSP is again from Confetti Celebration.  Last, but not least is:

Crisp Cantaloupe!  This time I heat embossed the flowers with gold embossing powder over Encore gold ink.  The DSP is Gold Soiree with a smidge of gold foil added to the sides.  The little wooden heart is an embellishment that is also retiring.

I hope you enjoyed my parade of In Colors teamed up with one of my favorite stamp sets, Too Kind.  It's been Kind of you to stick around as long as you did, little stamp set.  I will miss you!  I will have a list of products used on my cards at the end of this post.  Please let me know if you would like any more detailed instructions on any of the cards.

The next stop is Wendy Klein at Doggone Delightful Stampin', number 14 on the Pals Blog Hop!  Thanks for visiting; I hope to see you on next month’s Pals Hop!
