Super Simple Sunday!

Here is another very easy card to make!  All you need is the Designer Series Paper Stack called Serene Scenery.  If you missed my Super Simple Saturday card using this stack, you can see it HERE.

I've added a butterfly, a greeting, some gold thread and rhinestones, and it's done ~  couldn't be easier! And it's so pretty!

I layered the DSP onto a piece of Blushing Bride, then attached it to my base card with Stampin' Dimensionals.  My base card is Mossy Meadow - yes, sadly a retired in-color, but it also looks beautiful with Old Olive if you don't have any Mossy Meadow left.

I cropped the butterfly out of a piece of the Blushing Bride print from the Playful Palette DSP Stack, then cropped one from Vellum and attached them with a Glue Dot.

The greeting is from Birthday Blossoms.  On the inside, I stamped leaves from Birthday Blossoms and Old Olive ink.

Habit Tip:  Search through the catalog for just the right sentiment for your card when you don't have a specific stamp set in mind.  I wasn't sure which birthday sentiment I wanted on this card, so I turned to the birthday section in our Annual Catalog and found the perfect choice without looking through all my sets.  It saved me a bunch of time!

I hope you've enjoyed my Super Simple weekend cards!  I am heading to Minnesota this week for a family wedding (Hi, Minnesota Stampers!) so will be taking a break from posting for the week.  I will be back next week with some ideas from the new Holiday Catalog!  You will be able to start ordering from it this week, on Sept. 1st.

Don't forget!!!  Use those $5 credits you earned last month.  They are good through Wednesday, Aug. 31st.  Also, if you haven't ordered Thoughtful Branches yet, it is only available through Aug. 31, so don't miss either of those deadlines.

See you in September!

Super Simple Saturday

Want a quick and simple card idea for Saturday (or any day!)  This card couldn't be any easier to put together, yet the Designer Series Paper stack called Serene Scenery makes it a work of art!

The golds, greens and browns give the card an Autumn feel.  I actually started out trying to make a card for the PPA challenge this week which needed to include Dapper Denim, Old Olive, and So Saffron.  Well... I got the So Saffron, and the Old Olive is in this paper...I couldn't make the Denim work and decided to use Early Espresso.  I'll keep working on that PPA challenge, but this card went a different direction!

"Happy," cropped out with the Big Shot and Hello You Thinlits in Early Espresso, is glued directly to the DSP.  I cut the banner out of So Saffron with Bunch of Banners Framelits and stamped the word "Birthday" from Thoughtful Banners in Espresso, then added 2 dots with my Stampin' Write Marker.

The butterfly, from Papillon Potpourri, is stamped with Delightful Dijon onto Vellum paper and punched with the Bitty Butterfly punch.  I adhered it with a Glue Dot and folded the wings up just a touch.

On the inside I stamped the greeting from Happy Happenings in Espresso and 2 little Dandelion seeds from Balloon Celebration in Delightful Dijon.

The envelope is Very Vanilla to match the inside of my card, and I glued Delightful Dijon DSP Stack paper (2" x 6") to the back flap.  A little strip of Espresso ties the colors together.  Glue them down, trim off the excess, and it's ready to go.

Did I say this was Super Simple?  Go make some and send out a little handmade kindness!

Have a great weekend!

Halloween Treats using Paper Pumpkin (and a sneak peek!)

When I got last month's Paper Pumpkin, I thought there would be a very good chance that I would use the little boxes for Halloween Treats, and here are my first two to show you!

Once I purchased the Spooky Fun Stamp Set with the coordinating Designer Series Paper and matching Baker's Twine, it all came together for me.  You can purchase these products on Sept. 1st in the new Holiday Catalog.

This stamp set is so fun.  Jack-O-Lanterns, bats, spiders, ghosts, witches, and tombstones ~ and I love the greetings and fonts that go with it.  You can even purchase it with Halloween Scenes Edgelits Dies in a bundle and save 10% on the set.

The DSP is called Halloween Night Specialty DSP.  It's black, white, and Pumpkin Pie, with a couple of sheets with a special metallic design.  The Baker's Twine is Pumpkin Pie/Basic Black and Basic Gray/Basic Black twisted together.

Since the boxes have copper dots and flecks, I decided to stamp this "bootiful treat" stamp with Versamark ink and heat emboss it with Copper Embossing Powder.  The copper and white Washi Tape comes in the Affectionately Yours Suite.  I fit a couple of these Mini Twix into each box :-)

Won't these make fun little Halloween treats for someone?  I will be creating more tags with the rest of the stamps in the set as well.

Are you a Paper Pumpkin subscriber?  If you haven't tried it yet, we are having a BOGO sale right now.  Yep, buy one mont/get one month free.  And with the holidays coming up, there are always some really cute projects in the Paper Pumpkin kits.  Now would be a good time to try it out.

If you aren't familiar with Paper Pumpkin, it is a monthly crafting kit that comes to you in the mail.  It is all-inclusive.  Everything you need will be supplied (with the exception of scissors) ~ ink, stamps, adhesives, paper, embellishments -- it's all in there.  You can make the projects as their directions guide you, or you can use the materials in your own creative ways.  There are always many alternative ideas posted on the internet.  The kits run $19.95/month.  You can subscribe for as many months as you want and you can cancel it at any time.  Give it a try!  There is nothing to lose!  You even get a clear mounting block for the stamps in your first kit.  Check it all out at and give it a whirl.

Have a great day.  Go stamp something fun!

Peace, Warmth, and Cheer This Christmas

Christmas cards are popping up all over the internet.  With the new 2016 Holiday Catalog in the hands of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators everywhere, there are many wonderful projects being shared daily.  Just a few more days and you will be able to order from this catalog too!  How exciting!!

I was inspired by Linda Heller in Stamping School to put this Christmas card together.  It went together easily, which is a wonderful thing when you are making multiples of one card.  Even so, there are several elements to it, so let me walk you through it...

I started with a Basic Black base, 4 1/4" x 11", scored at 5 1/2" for a top fold card.

Next I embossed a 5 1/4" x 4" piece of Garden Green with the Lucky Stars Embossing Folder.

I glued a 2" x 4" piece of DSP (from the new Warmth & Cheer DSP Stack, page 13 in the Holiday Catalog) to the bottom of the green.

I added a 1/4" x 4" strip of Gold Glimmer Paper and wrapped a length of Gold Cord Trim around it. (In case you are wondering, the Gold Cord was in last year's catalog.  There is a new gold Baker's Twine coming out in the Holiday Catalog that looks awesome and much easier to handle!)

With Layering Circles Framelits I cut a Basic Black scalloped piece and a Whisper White circle.  I stamped the sentiment from Peace This Christmas (Annual Catalog) in Garden Green and added a little gold star from the Metallic Enamel Shapes.  This was secured to the card with Dimensionals.

I tied a bow with another length of cord and glued the finished front to the base card.

On the inside I stamped the other sentiment from Peace This Christmas and added a green pine bough with three gold Glimmer Paper dots.

Peace This Christmas comes in Wood or Clear Mount stamps.  It coordinates perfectly with our This Christmas Specialty Designer Series Paper.  But I love that the stamps that can be used with so many different Christmas products.

You can get this stamp set now of course, but you will be able to order from the Holiday Catalog beginning Sept. 1st.  If you place an order with me and let me know that you would like a Holiday Catalog, I will send you one free of charge.

Have fun stamping!
