Herb Garden Thank You

My sister-in-law showed up for Thanksgiving with this beautiful herb garden in hand ~ lucky me!  I knew just what I wanted to use on a thank you card for her!

I combined Basket of Wishes and Live, Love, Grow to create (as best I could) a reproduction with paper and ink.  This card is so cute, if I do say so myself!  It is perfectly "me." When you figure out what your style is, it is fun to bring that personality out on each card.

It measures 4 1/4" square.  I love square cards, but don't always want to pay extra postage for the shape.  If you make it 4 1/4" square, it will fit into a Medium Envelope from our catalog and no extra postage will be necessary.

I started with a piece of Old Olive measuring 4 1/4" x 8 1/2" and scored it at 4 1/4" to create the base. I embossed the front only of the base with the Petal Burst Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.

Next I cut a piece of Always Artichoke at 3 3/4" x 3 3/4."  A 3 1/2" square of Watercolor Paper is glued to the Artichoke layer after stamping and watercoloring the plant.

Stampin' Ink Pads used:  Basic Gray, Cajun Craze, Old Olive, Always Artichoke, Garden Green, and Sahara Sand.

Coloring Tools and Accessories:  Aqua Painter, Blender Pen, and Old Olive Baker's Twine

I covered the back flap of the envelope with a piece of Always Artichoke Designer Series Paper.

On the inside I layered Old Artichoke with Watercolor Paper, stamped a sprig from Live, Love, Grow, and a Thank You from a brand new set called All Things Thanks.  It will be available when the Occasions Catalog comes out on January 4, 2017.

I hope you like my little card as much as I do!  It was fun and easy to make.  I used the Aqua Painter to color the basket, but found the Blender Pen to be easier on the plants.  Give it a try!

Online Extravaganza's Last Day and an Unconventional Christmas Card!

Today is the final day of our November Online Extravaganza.  One more day to get in on these fabulous bargains!  Plus, today - for 24 hours - is the Flash Sale with extra products to choose
from.  Here is what's up ~

Personally, I don't know how anyone can be without the Magnetic Platform for the Big Shot!  It is an absolute staple in my craft room and gets used almost daily.  Do you have one yet?  If not, get it today with a 35% discount.  Normally $40, today it is $26.00!

The Playful Palette Designer Series Paper Stack is also on sale today.  It is 40% off; normally $10, you can buy it today for $6.  I thought I'd try using it on a Christmas card today and this is what I came up with~

Now this is definitely not your typical Christmas card! But I kind of like the modern, artsy feel of the Playful Palette tree on the background paper from the same stack.

I used Basic Black for the base card. A 1 1/2" strip of Emerald Envy goes right across the middle of the Emerald cross hatch print layer.  I attached a piece of Peekaboo Peach Ruched Ribbon on the strip before gluing it down.  The black scalloped oval is the largest of the Layering Ovals Framelits.  The tree is cropped from Perfect Pines Framelits and a colorful piece of Playful Palette.

The sentiment is from Merriest Wishes and cropped from Very Vanilla cardstock and the smallest oval in Layering Ovals Framelits.  Three medium rhinestones give it just a touch of sparkle.

I would love to hear what you think of my unconventional Christmas card!

Now hit that Shop Now button and take advantage of some great prices!  It will end tonight! Happy Shopping and Happy Stamping!

Paper Pumpkin Christmas Cards

I LOVE this month's Paper Pumpkin kit!  It makes these cute small cards which are darling by themselves, but I decided to "beef" it up just a little by cutting the white card in half and gluing it to a Note Card-sized base of Dapper Denim cardstock.

Then I took the inside piece of the original card and glued it to the inside of my Dapper Denim card base.

One helpful hint ~ Cut your card base slightly smaller so it will easily slip into the Dapper Denim envelopes that are provided with the kit. My base card measures 4 7/8" x 3 1/2." With the many layers on the front of the card, this adjustment makes a better fit into the envelopes.
