Last Minute Tag Ideas!

Merry Christmas Eve!

I've been taking a holiday break from blogging, preparing for lots of company and all that goes with the Christmas festivities. I hope you are enjoying time with loved ones and managing to avoid the last minute stress!

I have a few minutes in the early hours of today to share with you a few of my Christmas tags - just in case you need another last minute idea! :-)

These use current and past products. I rarely get rid of my holiday stamp sets if I love them. Why not use them year after year?!

I think the directions are pretty self-explanatory, so instead of going over details, I'll just show you close-ups of each one. If you have the supplies, great! If not, improvise with what you have!

I'm sure you have all of your wrapping finished, but maybe you'd like to get a few tags ready for next year, haha! If you have questions about any of these, I'd be happy to help. You can contact me at www.karenhallam.stampinup.net.

Have a Merry Christmas! A Happy Holiday! Blessings to you and yours!

How About Gift Card Holders?

A great way to dress up your gift cards this Christmas is with a simple, pretty gift card holder! This project is so easy and you can decorate it any way you want. I've got several options to show you.

Directions for the basic holder:

  • Cardstock measuring 8-1/2" x 3-1/4", score it at 2" and 6".
  • Designer Series Paper measuring 3" x 2-1/4" and 3" x 1-3/4".
  • Corner round the corners on the top (2") flap and the bottom of the smaller DSP piece.

  • Glue the DSP in place. Punch a partial circle to create a finger-hold in the bottom section.

  • Add Tear & Tape to the inside of the bottom section on 2 sides.

  • Decorate the front and place a tiny bit of self-adhesive Velcro dot under the top flap to hold the holder closed.

I've been on a mission to use up my retired paper. These are the perfect use for that! And if you have saved old stamp sets and framelits like I have, there are endless possibilties! Here are a few more that I've made using some of my new and old products ~

Instead of DSP on this one, I stamped the snowflakes from Colorful Seasons and Snow Place onto Crumb Cake with Versamark ink and heat embossed them with white embossing powder. Then I stuck the adorable little penguin from Snow Place on the front.

I did the same using the snowman from Snow Place.

This DSP and poinsettia are from last year's Home For Christmas.

And back to my original photo... This is current product: Be Merry DSP and Jar of Love with Pretty Pines Thinlits. I have made a bazillion of these this year (well, almost!) for friends, neighbors, craft fairs, my own gift giving. They are quite the hot little item this year!

Come shop with me! Click HERE to get to my online store and purchase all those last minute items you need to finish up your Christmas projects. Soon we will be on to the Occasions Catalog in January of (gulp!) 2018!

Have a wonderful weekend!

Swaps to Swoon Over, Part 2

There were many beautiful swaps cards that I received at our Pals Event during OnStage 2017. I shared some of them last week (see them HERE) and today I have a few more to share. First up is this Simple Stampin' card by my friend and leader, Susan Itell....

These Hometown Greetings Edgelit Dies are so sweet, and she has perfectly
placed one of them to fit this cute little square card. 💕

This adorable card is by my new friend, Deb, that I had the pleasure of
spending time with at OnStage.

Love the mix of Be Merry DSP on this card by Rachell Richman.

This one is so pretty in Fresh Fig with little touches of Powder Pink and Silver Foil.  The Winter Wonderland Embossing Folder is one of my favorite things from the Holiday Catalog. In fact, I used it on my swap card. You can see it HERE.

The first 24 Hr. Flash Sale has ended, but there are many products discounted through the rest of this week. I put in my order yesterday! Love this time of year for bargains! Click HERE for the list.

Happy Day!

An Anniversary Card for my "Kids"

On Saturday, my son and daughter-in-law celebrated their 5th Anniversary! I'm so proud of them and all of their accomplishments in these past 5 years. They got married in a beautiful old Western hotel in Tucson, AZ, moved to Sacramento, had two babies, bought a house, then each completed their PhD's in History. Needless to say, we are very proud!

I made this card for them. Mary Fish provided the inspiration for the design. She also provided the tool - the Leaf Punch - as a gift for attending OnStage in Salt Lake City two week ago. So thank you, Mary, for both the idea and the means!

I used Copper Foil for the layer underneath the Wood Textures DSP. I found out that the 5th Anniversary is the "Wood" anniversary, so I had to use the whitewashed barn wood piece.  The wreath has Gold, Silver, and Copper Foil Sheets and Gold Glimmer Paper, punched with the Leaf Punch, and carefully glued around in a circle to build the wreath.

Copper Wire Trim and copper embossing powder on the sentiment from Beautiful Bouquet complete the look.

For the envelope, I kept it pretty simple with a bit of embellishment by running the flap through the Big Shot with the Petal Burst embossing folder.

You can see my list of products below. They are linked to my online store, so to buy anything you see here or any other products in the current catalogs, simply click on one of the product pictures.

Today you can save BIG on select stamp sets! It's the Online Extravaganza Sale. Click HERE to see the stamp set selections. There are also many other products listed that are marked down as well that go for the entire week, so get your wish list going and have fun saving!

If you are not currently working with a demonstrator, I would be happy to help you with any questions and to be your Stampin' Up! Demonstrator! I look forward to hearing from you!

Have a blessed week and a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Swaps to Swoon Over, Part 1

This past week, I had the best time ever at the Stampin' Up! OnStage Convention in Salt Lake City. One of the things we did was get together for dinner with all of the Pals who were also in attendance. We had a "Sip and Swap" and exchanged our own cards for one from each participant. They are all wonderful and I would love to share them with you! I have posted the designer's name on each one, except for the couple that didn't include their name in the envelope. So if it says "Unknown", I just want to say thank you to whoever you are! I love your card!

Here are a few to get started. I will post more as the week goes on...

This adorable card was made by Elisa Saucier. I love the way she used the mini sequin trim and red ribbon at the bottom.  So joyful!

This card is by Tricia Chuba. It's a pull-out card...surprise! So cute!

This next card was made by my friend, Julie Wagner.  She and I met at our first ever convention three years ago. We were both there on our own - she from Kentucky, and me from California - and by fate found each other and quickly bonded. It was so much fun to see her again and get caught up a little!

We are a bit like-minded. Found that even our cards had the same elements with black and white, and the large snowflake embossing folder!

Here is one of those "Unknown's", but oh, it is one of my favorite cards in the bunch! I wish this person had identified themselves so I could give credit! Love the background stamping, the tiny tree...
and on the inside...

Sweet!

I have much more to share, but I'm going to save the rest for another day or days. I'm sure by now you have heard about the Stamparatus!  Woohoo! This was something we were all waiting for! If you like the Misti or the Tim Holtz stamp positioning tool, you are going to LOVE this with it's bonus features. Here is a video that Stampin' Up! has put out there. Have a look for yourself. You need this tool - just sayin'! Preorders will start Nov. 16th for the first round, then another at a later date. But don't wait if you love the idea of this tool. I got to see it up close and personal at OnStage. It is going to change the way we all stamp, for sure! Watch this ~

Go get stampin'!
