Daffodil Hill for the Pals Blog Hop

Welcome to the Pals Blog Hop for March 2017. We are thankful you stopped by to take a look at our 2017 Blog Hop monthly themes.  This month we are featuring Spring or Spring related projects. We hope you enjoy our creations.
You may just be starting the Blog Hop or may have come from the previous link from the Line-up on the Pals Blog Hop listing shown below.  The full lineup will help you move along from blog to blog so you may see all the projects.

There is a tiny town in the California Gold Country called Volcano, and every Spring, its hillsides come to life with daffodils!  There is a working farm called Daffodil Hill there that the owners open to the public in February/March and it is such a treat to visit!

I thought that in honor of Daffodil Hill I would make a daffodil hill card for our March Pals Blog Hop!  Here is my card ~

I used Basket Bunch Bundle for the daffodils, Affectionately Yours DSP for the hillside, Swirly Scribbles Thinlits to cut the hills, and Flourishing Phrases for the sentiments, inside and out.

I glued the flower parts together with Glue Dots, then tucked them in between the hill pieces, leaving the tops loose to provide some fun dimension.

On the inside, I continued the sentiment from Flourishing Phrases, but added the Happy Birthday from Balloon Adventures.  The fonts are a great match!

My colors are Daffodil Delight (of course!), Cucumber Crush, Crumb Cake, Soft Sky, and Night of Navy for the sentiment.

Daffodil Delight paper from the Brights DSP Stack is a perfect addition to the back flap of the envelope. See all products listed below, and click any one to connect to my online store!
Thanks for visiting. To continue with the hop, please refer to the Blog Hop Line-up below. We hope to see you on next month’s Pals Blog Hop!

  1. Very pretty card and beautiful pictures of Daffodil Hill!! I always wanted to go but never seem to find the time!!

    1. Thanks, Sabrina! It is a bit of a drive to get there, but a beautiful one! Set a day to go - you will be glad you did!

  2. Karen, cute card! I have read about this little town that inspired you. It was on my list for a road trip last summer, but due to fire, I never got the chance to visit. Now, I really need to see it! Thanks for sharing your inspiration!

    1. Thanks, Karen! Daffodil Hill is due to open March 17 this year. Check this website: It should be absolutely beautiful this year with all the rain we've had!

  3. Karen, Your post instantly brought a smile to my face. Your card is lovely, but your mention of Daffodil Hill brought back memories of my adventure there 21 years ago. I was learning to be a Tour Guide/Tour Director at ITMI, a school based in San Francisco, and we went to Daffodil Hill as part of an overnight training trip. Long story short, our bus got stuck in the mud, we hitch-hiked 40 people to a nearby town, convinced a local inn that was closed for the season to open for us, picked up some wine and snacks....Great memories. Thank you for reminding me of that fun (and educational) memory!

  4. What a great memory! Glad to have stirred that up! And thanks for the fun story!!

  5. Karen, This is such a fun, bright card!!!!
