Cool Treats for your birthday!

Here I go, mixing it up again!  I am tickled with how this Festive Birthday DSP goes with the Cool Treats stamps! It looks like a July birthday party, ready to happen!

This is a very straight-forward card. The DSP measures 5-1/4" x 4". The Tempting Turquoise layer is 4" x 3", and the Whisper White is 3-7/8" x 2-7/8".

I stamped the popsicles with Pink Pirouette + Melon Mambo, and Soft Sky + Tempting Turquoise. the sticks are Delightful Dijon. The birthday greeting is Melon Mambo.

On the inside, I added a third popsicle in Melon Mambo + Delightful Dijon, and stamped the greeting in Turquoise.

This is one of those quick, easy, fun-to-stamp cards that will delight the receiver ~ don't you think?

Have a great day and sneak in some stamping fun if you can!

Quick Note Card

Good Monday to you! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend!

I wanted a note card-sized card to send to my friend, but since she is a purple person, I knew it had to be something in the purple family.  Since our Note Cards and Envelopes (so handy and great price) only come in Whisper White and Crumb Cake, I knew I had to make my own. Easy enough!

I cut a piece of Rich Razzleberry Cardstock  to 5" x 7" and scored it at 3-1/2".  Then I layered it with Whisper White to make the Razzleberry Paisley paper pop. I cut each layer 1/8" smaller than the last.

A 1/2" strip of coordinating paper from Petals & Paisleys looks kind of like ribbon!  The oval Stitched Shapes Framelit nicely fits around the sentiment from Thoughts & Prayers.

Then the focal point ~ a Silver Foil dragonfly from Detailed Dragonfly Thinlits Dies. Pretty! I love everything cut with foil!

But then there is the matter of an envelope. I could have put it in a pre-made note card-sized envie, but it was so easy to make my own with the Envelope Punch Board and a sheet of Very Vanilla Paper.

Here are the framelits and stamp set ~

Basket Bunch Thank You

Happy Friday!  It is a beautiful day here today - sunshine and flowers popping up all around! It is a tease of Spring, I'm sure, but I'm enjoying it!!!

Today's card is a CASE from Amy K ~ one of my favorite card maker/bloggers.  I've used some different DSP and twine, but the layout is the same. We made this in my card class this week and everyone loved it.  Here are the details ~

Base: Calypso Coral 11" x 4-1/4", scored at 5-1/2" for a vertical card
Layers: Whisper White 5" x 3-3/4", Fruit Stand DSP 4-7/8" x 3-5/8" popped up with Stampin' Dimensionals
Grass: Pear Pizzazz
Basket: Crumb Cake, stamped with Chocolate Chip
Flowers/stems: Stamped with Basic Gray and watercolored with Aqua Painters in Watermelon Wonder, Peekaboo Peach, Pear Pizzazz
Stamp Set: Basket Bunch
Framelits: Basket Builder Framelits Dies
Stamp Pads: Chocolate Chip, Basic Gray
Finishing Touches: In Color Enamel Shapes, twine from past Paper Pumpkin Kit

On the inside, I simply cut a 1/2" strip of the same DSP and glued it to the bottom of a Whisper White panel measuring 5" x 3-3/4".

Blue Butterfly for GDP#075

This is my first-ever entry for the Global Design Project! The theme this week is Winged Creatures, so I thought I would make a bold blue butterfly for the challenge ~

And here is the banner that inspired my card:

I started with a base card of Basic Black. Then I took a 5" x 3-3/4" piece of Pacific Point plus a 4-7/8" x 3-5/8" piece of Inside the Lines DSP (free with a purchase of $50 during Sale-A-Bration) and placed them together on my Big Shot.

I placed the Butterfly Thinlit at an angle on top of both pieces of paper and ran it through my Big Shot.

After cropping out the butterfly, I glued the DSP to the Pacific Point, then glued that to the base card.

Then I took the blue butterfly and glued just the head and body to the black base, fitting it right into the cut out area.  I lightly bent up the wings and added a row of Rhinestone Basic Jewels down the center.

On the inside I stamped a sentiment from All Things Thanks in Basic Black and added a Pacific Point butterfly stamped from Papillon Potpourri.

Have you seen the three new selections that came out yesterday for Sale-A-Bration?  We now have 3 more options to choose from! For every $50 you spend between now and March 31st, you can pick a free item.  See the SAB brochure on my sidebar for all the selections. And now add these three goodies ~

I can't wait to get mine and start playing with them! Something for a future post :-) !
