Honeycomb Hello 3 x 3's

Sometimes you just need a little card to tuck into a gift or a lunchbox or with a plate of cookies to give your neighbor...You get the idea!  That's what this little trio of 3" x 3" cards are for - for just that little something!

This one is in Mint Macaron and Whisper White, with the Mint Macaron print from the In Color Designer Paper Stack. The beehives on all three are Whisper White that I ran through the Big Shot with the Honeycomb Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.  I "fussy" cut the 7 hexagons out in one piece and popped it up with Stampin' Dimensionals.  The center is another piece of the same DSP cut to fit the honeycomb.  The stamps are from Honeycomb Hello, new in this year's Annual Catalog.  A touch of lace or ribbon and 3 rhinestones dress it up.

This one is in Lost Lagoon.

This one is in Pool Party.

Line the little square envelopes with the matching DSP to make it even more special!

Honeycomb Hello is a very fun little set that is perfect for these 3 x 3 cards.

All supplies are listed below.  You can check them out and order them by simply clicking on the pictures.

Happy Stamping!

A Masculine Birthday and Weekly Deals

It's so easy to make beautiful, flowery, "floofy" cards for women, isn't it?  But when I look through my stash for a guy card, I often run short.  I thought I'd show you this very masculine card I've made for my brother-in-law.  His birthday is coming up soon.

This picture shows the texture a little better.  I used the Arrows Textured Impressions Embossing Folder on Basic Black cardstock.

The very fun DSP is from Go Wild Designer Series Paper Stack.  I cut a window in the middle with the Note Tag Punch - a trick I learned from Dawn Olchefske's "DOstamping with Dawn" website.

The message is from the Tin of Cards stamp set.  And if you don't have this set yet, put it on your next order.  It is a keeper!

Trio of Blooms

I am so excited and honored to be Mary Fish's Guest Stamper today!  If you are coming from her blog, I want to thank you for checking mine out!

Today I have a rather classic color combination for summer - navy and yellow - specifically Night of Navy and Daffodil Delight.  The base is a vertical 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" in navy.  The yellow stripe is from the Brights Designer Series Paper Stack.  I love the new prints on these stacks and know I'll be using them a lot!

Garden in Bloom is by far my favorite floral in the new 2015-16 catalog.  I love the variegated watercolor look with the crisp outline stamps.  These are two-step stamps and so easy to place just right because they are see-through photopolymer.  I placed them hanging off the sides of these 2" x 2" squares and gave each a little border of navy, popping the top two up with Stampin' Dimensionals.

"Hello Sweet Friend" is from the Six-Sided Sampler stamp set.  A bow made with Night of Navy Seam Binding Ribbon and a navy Candy Dot add just a punch of color.  I also added a strip of the yellow stripe to the inside edge and on the outer flap of the envelope.

This card would be great for any number of occasions - birthday, thanks, hello - What occasion would you use it for?

I would love to hear your comments!  Also, if you would like to get my free newsletter, you can sign up under Contact Me.  Simply fill out the short form and specify Newsletter.  I send one out once a week.  There's no obligation.

Wish Big!

I am head-over-heels in love with this BIG butterfly die cut!  It is so delicate and gorgeous.  It's part of the Butterflies Thinlits pack.  Buy it separately or as a bundle with the Butterfly Basics stamp set and save 15%!

I went on a hunt for a paper that would compliment my big butterfly.  I knew I wanted something with green in it, and the print couldn't be so busy as to camouflage it.  I found this perfect little print in the Pretty Petals Designer Series Paper Stack.  The butterfly was also cut from a print in that same stack.

I knew that the butterfly needed to be backed by Very Vanilla to really stand out.    Two panels of DSP on either side, all framed with skinny black layers seemed to work very well.

Such a large butterfly need a big card to sit on, so I made this a 5 1/4" square.  You know what that means...a custom envelope!  The Envelope Punch Board came to my rescue.  It is so great that we can make envelopes to fit just about any size card we want to make!

See my supply list below.  If you would like to order any of these products, or just read more about them, simply click on the picture and it will take you directly to my online store.

I welcome your comments!  Please contact me if you have any questions about this project.

Tomorrow I will be a Guest Stamper on Mary Fish's blog,  I hope you will come back and see what I have in store for you!

Until tomorrow ~ Happy Stamping!

A Happy Hello

This is such a bright and cheerful card - sure to put a smile on the recipient's face!  I love the colors in the Cherry on Top DSP Stack.  Perfect with Cucumber Crush and Crushed Curry.

The sentiment is part of the Tin of Cards stamp set.  This is one of my new favorites!  With so many different phrases and squiggles, it is one of the most versatile sets in the catalog.  And oh, yeah, it goes with the Tin of Cards Project Kit (see that HERE)~ but it is great for so much more.  I highly recommend it for your stamp collection!

Tin of Cards Photopolymer Stamp Set by Stampin' Up!
Take a closer look:
I created a window in my DSP using the Note Tag punch and popped it up over the sentiment with Dimensionals onto the green base.  The sentiment is stamped onto a white piece of cardstock and glued directly to the base card.

Crushed Curry ribbon, and all five colors from the DSP in Itty Bitty Accents flower punch with pearls dress it up a bit.

Please let me know if you would like more details on this card assembly.  I would be happy to share with you!

Happy Stamping!  Until next time ~

A Butterfly With Shine

This butterfly is super shiny in person!  This photo doesn't really show it, but I heat embossed the black parts of the butterfly and the sentiment with black embossing powder.  Here are two more photos that shows it a bit better...

I don't think I've ever stamped a sentiment right onto the DSP before, but with the puff and shine of the embossing, it looks pretty good!  :-)

The Designer Series Paper is in the Pretty Petals DSP Stack.  I breezed past it the first few times I looked, but it is cute as a background, don't you think?

This card is one that I featured in my newsletter this week.  If you like it and would like to see more, plus read about the latest promotions and specials that Stampin' Up! is offering, you can sign up by clicking on "Contact Me."  It's free and I post one every Tuesday or Wednesday.

I am "green with envy" at the demonstrators that were able to attend Convention in Salt Lake City this week.  You may be seeing a few green cards from me this week, as Mary Fish has challenged us to make cards with the color green.  I hope those of you who were able to go are having a fantastic time!  I can't wait to see photos, hear stories, and watch some videos of the big event.

Happy Stamping Everyone!  Until next time ~

Grateful For Your Goodness

Do you have a friend that will go that extra mile for you?  Someone who will just do anything for you, no matter what her schedule looks like?  I have a friend like that and I decided I needed to let her know just how much I appreciate her.  This card will be just what I need to express my gratitude!

This is a color that I really haven't used before...Chocolate Chip.  As I was looking at it, I noticed a pinkish cast to it.  So I paired it up with Blushing Bride, and I think the two go very well together.

The flowery print is from our new Neutrals Designer Series Paper Stack.  I punched it out with the 2 3/8" Scallop Circle Punch and layered it on top of our Floral Frames Collection Framelits.  I cut the Blushing Bride layer in half, separated it about 1/4" and glued it to the back of the Chocolate Chip flower so that it just peeks out behind it.  I ran the white flower through the Big Shot using the Decorative Dots Embossing Folder after cutting it out with the Framelits.  The tiny Blushing Bride flower on the top is from the Itty Bitty Accents Punches.  A tiny rhinestone finishes it off.

Stamp Sets used are Something to Say and Another Thank You on the inside. I glued a 6" x 2 1/4" strip of the flower paper to the back flap of the envelope, then cut the excess off with my Paper Snips.

Tomorrow is Tuesday...You know what that means!  New Bonus Deals!  I can't wait to see what they will have for this next week.  Word of caution:  Because these items are marked down even more than usual, there is a limited supply of them at the discounted price.  If you wait too long, you might miss the bargain.  The items will still be available at the regular prices, but unfortunately not at the sale price.

Have a long Wish List?  Consider joining Stampin' Up!  You will get $125.00 worth of product for $99.00.  After that, you will get a 20% discount on all your purchases.  And you don't have any obligation to sell anything.  You can quit at anytime.  No strings attached.  Contact me if you are interested in this incredible deal!  The Weekly Bonus Deals can be included in your $99.00 Starter Kit, for even more savings.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Until tomorrow ~

Make A Wish and Weekly Deals!

I found the layout for this "Four Panel" card on Linda Heller's web site and immediately knew I had to try it.  She made hers with the Pretty Petals DSP Stack.  I thought it would be cute to use this Cherry on Top Designer Series Paper Stack with Bermuda Bay and Pool Party cardstock.

The circles  in the middle were cut using the Circles Framelits, #5 & 6, and popped up on Dimensionals.

The stamp sets I used were Perfect Pennants, Amazing Birthday, and Big News on the inside.

I made the envelope with the Envelope Punch Board, and there was just enough paper left to make this little bonus 3 x 3 card!

If you would like specific directions and measurements for these cards, sign up for my free newsletter.  I will be featuring them this week.  I send a newsletter out every week, Tuesday or Wednesday, and it comes right to your inbox.  Simply click on Contact Me, fill out the short form, designate that you want the newsletter, and you will begin receiving it as soon as I get the information.

Card Class Beauties

I went to a friend's Stampin' Up! card class on Thursday and we made these lovely cards that I thought I'd share with you today.  Janice had lots of samples to show us many ideas for these two stamp sets, You've Got This and Awesomely Artistic.  These are the three we made, with just a tiny bit of adaption of my own:

This card has a base of Blackberry Bliss, a layer of Island Indigo, and a Boho Chic textured layer in Rich Razzleberry.  Awesomely Artistic is the stamp set. The three colors of ink are Blackberry Bliss, Island Indigo, Delightfully Dijon, and a touch of Bermuda Bay in the sentiment piece.  These colors are all featured in the Bohemian DSP, and the neutral is Very Vanilla.  I added a Rich Razzleberry button and some Gold Baker's Twine.  Very colorful!
This card shows another example of Awesomely Artistic with a very different color palette.  Watermelon Wonder, Delightfully Dijon, and black splots from Gorgeous Grunge, with Typeset DSP and a gold embossed dragonfly.  I added a black layer as the base.  Love it!

This card features You've Got This.  We stamped the entire flower on the Very Vanilla piece, then stamped the bloom again on the DSP, cut it out and popped it up with Stampin' Dimensionals.  The leaves and stems were colored with a Pear Pizzazz Marker.  I added the strips of Bohemian DSP to the top and bottom of the Vanilla piece.

I hope you have enjoyed seeing our cards.  Janice Rosenthal Rock is a long time demonstrator and always has fun ideas for us to work with.  I appreciate her expertise!

I'll be back on Tuesday with some new Weekly Deals for you to see and perhaps there will be some additions to the Clearance Rack - ???  We'll see!  Have a great Sunday ~

Blushing Butterfly!

I finally broke down and bought the Butterflies Thinlits.  Why did I wait so long?!   I think I was afraid that they would be hard to get out of the die with all those little holes.  Not at all!  The trick is waxed paper and a fabric softener dryer sheet.  Just sandwich the DSP or other paper choice between a piece of waxed paper (on bottom) and a dryer sheet (on top), then put the die on top of all layers and roll it through the Big Shot.  It works like magic!  All the little cut out pieces stick to the dryer sheet and you are just left with a beautifully cut-out butterfly.  Now you know! :-)

Butterflies Thinlits Dies by Stampin' Up!

The base of this card is Watermelon Wonder.  The tiny butterfly DSP layer is from Pretty Petals DSP Stack.

I stamped Swallowtail on Blushing Bride cardstock with VersaMark and heat embossed it with Clear Stampin' Emboss Powder.  Don't you love this big bold butterfly stamp?  It is a single background stamp, found on page 129 of the Annual Catalog.  It comes in wood block mount or clear mount.
Swallowtail Wood-Mount Background Stamp Set by Stampin' Up!

Love the shine that the Clear Embossing Powder leaves!

I used the medium sized butterfly thinlit and the Watermelon Wonder sheet from Pretty Petals.  It is actually the back side of the tiny butterfly paper I used for the frame layer.  Paper Saving Tip:  Cut your DSP layer at 5 3/8" x 4 1/8".  Then cut a rectangle out of the middle approximately 4 3/8" x 3 1/8", or 1/2" in from all edges.  Now turn it over and cut your butterfly from that rectangle.  It's the perfect size!

It is attached with glue dots and trimmed on the right side to line up with the edge of the card.  A Watermelon Wonder In Color Blossom Accent piece finishes off the butterfly.  I stamped the sentiment from Watercolor Wings stamp set, also in Watermelon Wonder.

This had a lot of steps to describe but really was easy to put together.  I hope you like it and will try it.  If you don't have all the materials, you can purchase them from my online store by clicking on the pictures at the bottom of this post.

Have a wonderful weekend!  Until next time ~
Happy stamping!

Garden in Bloom CASE

I CASEd this card from the 2015-16 Annual Catalog!  There are some great projects for you to use right in the catalog.  It's such a good resource, and one I often forget to use.  But this one just caught my eye, and I ran with it!  You'll find this project sample on page 119, along with the stamp set, Garden in Bloom:

Garden in Bloom Photopolymer Stamp Set by Stampin' Up!
Garden in Bloom Photopolymer Stamp Set by Stampin' Up!

When you CASE a project, you can copy it exactly as it is, or you can make it yours by making a few simple changes.  I chose to do the second.  I love the way these blooms look when outlined in black with the second stamp.  So I outlined both the flower and the leaves, then I drew a skinny black line down the stem.

I used Mossy Meadow for the base, and I made it a 4 1/4" square card.  I used Blushing Bride for the petals and Wild Wasabi for the leaves and stem.

This super sweet DSP comes in the English Garden collection.  The sentiment is from Another Thank you:

Another Thank You Photopolymer Stamp Set by Stampin' Up!

I tied a piece of Thick Baker's Twine around the card.  This one happens to be Mossy Meadow, no longer available - but I would say, watch for it in the the Clearance Rack as you never know when it might pop up!  If you have Old Olive Baker's Twine, that would look nice here, too, and it is in the current catalog.

Last but not least, the envelope...a friend of mine always stamps something on her envelope to match the card, and I think it is such a good idea!  Ties it all together.

And that is my card for today.  Cute, isn't it?  Thanks, Stampin' Up! for the inspiration!

Until next time ~  Happy stamping, everyone!
