Welcome to the Pals Blog Hop for February 2016. We are thankful you stopped by to take a look at our new 2016 Blog Hop monthly themes. This month we are CASE-ing a project shown in a current Stampin’ Up! catalog. After all, with the Annual, Occasions and Sale-a-Bration catalogs available right now, there is much inspiration to choose from. We hope you enjoy our creations.
You may just be starting the Blog Hop or may have come from the previous link from the Line-up on the Pals Blog Hop listing shown below. The full lineup will help you move along from blog to blog so you may see all the projects.
I chose the box on page 98 of the Annual Catalog to CASE! I think Guy Greetings is one of the most fun stamp sets to date. I love the old car, the strongman, all of the sayings which are so great for masculine cards.I did change the project up just a bit. First of all, I made my own 3" square box with Kraft Cardstock, the Stampin' Trimmer, and Fast Fuse. This would be so much easier with the Gift Box Punch Board (and now I may have to get it!). If you want the instructions to my made-from-scratch box, please let me know. I will be happy to share, but it's a bit too lengthy to go into on this post.
I used a 6" x 2 1/2" strip of DSP from the Going Places DSP Stack. You will find this stack in the 2016 Occasions Catalog on page 39. I knew I wanted to use Mossy Meadow on this project, and the Mossy Meadow grid paper from this stack was perfect.
To create a "handle" for the lid, I used an Antique Brad.
The tag is 2" wide, punched with the Ornate Tag Topper Punch, stamped with Basic Black Archival Ink, and colored with a Mossy Meadow marker.
I used 5/8" Striped Cotton Ribbon in Mossy Meadow to wrap around the box, then tied the tag on with Old Olive Baker's Twine.
Thanks for visiting. To continue with the hop, please refer to the Blog Hop Line-up below. We hope to see you on next month’s Pals Blog Hop!
