Botanicals for PPA 298

Today I have created a card that I will enter into the weekly Pals Paper Arts Challenge.
Here is my card ~

And this is the banner that got me started ~

I used Botanical Gardens Designer Series Paper with Botanical Builder Framelits Dies.  I used Mossy Meadow for my base card and a greeting from Suite Sayings.  The center of the flower is a pearl that I colored black with a Sharpie pen.

Inside, I backed Very Vanilla cardstock with the black print from Botanical Gardens DSP, and stamped a flower and leaves from the Botanical Blooms photopolymer stamp set.  I stamped the flower first with So Saffron, masked it off and stamped the leaves over the mask with Pear Pizzazz.  The leaf veins are Mossy Meadow.  The flower stamen is Cajun Craze.

You can still get this set in a bundle - the best way to purchase the coordinating items at a 15% discount - but after May 31 you will only be able to buy the stamp set and the thinlits separately.  The paper will be discontinued.

New Baby Gift Card Holder

I just received this stamp set called Made With Love as an incentive gift from Stampin' Up! so I had to give it a "test drive!"  It is the most adorable collection of images for babies that I've seen.

I am also on a mission to use up as much of my retiring DSP as I can, so I pulled out what I had left of Sweet Li'l Things and found this sweet cloud image to use on my card.

This is a gift card holder.  On the front I layered the DSP over Night of Navy.  The base is Pool Party.  And I colored in some of the onesie with markers in Pool Party and Rose Red.  I cut the onesie using Baby's First Framelit Dies.  Very Vanilla Thick Baker's Twine and a retired button from my stash (dare I admit?) cover up an ink smudge on the card!!! :-)

The sentiments on the inside come from B.Y.O.P., stamped in Navy.  I thought the right side needed a little texture or something.  I tried tiny stamps (garbage), a more bold embossing folder (garbage), and finally settled on my retired tiny dot embossing folder.  They need to bring this one back, in my opinion!  The left side is a pocket for a gift card, adhered with Tear & Tape along the top and bottom.

Last, I lined the envelope with the Pool Party version of the little cloud print.  It ties it together without being exactly matchy-matchy.

This is a fun, easy layout.  Let me know if you have any questions by leaving me a comment below.  If you don't see a comment section, you must first click on the title of this post, then it will take you to where you will see a comment section.  I would love to hear from you!

Happy Stamping!

Bohemian Thank You - Using up my DSP

I have little bits of Bohemian DSP left in my file, so I created three thank you cards to share with you.  These are note card size.   I used Very Vanilla cardstock and cut them to a base size of 5" x 3 1/2".  All three have the sentiment from our soon-to-be-retired Another Thank You.

This first one was stamped with Island Indigo.  The feather was stamped in Bermuda Bay on Very Vanilla cardstock and fussy cut.

This one has the sentiment stamped in Blackberry Bliss, layered with Blackberry cardstock on top of Bermuda Bay cardstock.  I scored 1/4" from the edge and again 1/4" to the right of the DSP strip for extra texture.  The butterfly is the Bitty Butterfly Punch with 3 pearls down the center.

On this one I ran the Bermuda Bay cardstock layer through the Big Shot with the Boho Chic Embossing Folder, cut a skinny strip of the Dijon print and glued it next to the diamond shaped DSP.  The feather is Delightful Dijon on Very Vanilla cardstock.

I still have a little bit more paper to play with, so I'll probably make a couple more of these.  Do you have a favorite?  I'd love to hear from you in the Comment section below!  Give me your opinion!
