Karen's Stampin' Habit!: Pick a "B" for June Pals Blog Hop!

Hi Hoppers and Stampers! Our theme this month is "B" projects. I actually picked 4 "b's" to incorporate into this card. Let me explain...

My grandson is turning ten years old on July 2, so I thought I'd make him a Birthday card. He just made the Baseball All Star Team, for which I am over the moon proud! Balloons are appropriate for any celebration. And Blue ~ our new Dapper Denim Blue is the base of my card and 3 of the balloons.

Here's a closer look at the textures. First I stamped the open star from the Balloons Celebration stamp set, Dapper Denim ink on Dapper Denim cardstock. Then I embossed a white panel with the Lucky Stars Textured Embossing Folder.

I punched the balloons with the Balloon Bouquet Punch from a variety of papers ~ Real Red and Dapper Denim cardstock, Real Red prints from the Brights DSP Stack, and Whisper White. I stamped off the Dapper Denim ink to create a lighter shade, then stamped the stars into it using full strength Dapper Denim.

For the inside, I created a personal message on my computer, then punched another balloon from Real Red cardstock and decorated the string with little hearts.
