Playing Along With Challenges

I enjoy doing the online challenges with my cardmaking hobby. It is a great way to get the creative juices flowing! Sketches can be taken literally or they can be used as a jumping off point for something original. I am covering two challenges with my card today. The first one is the Craft Project Central's Creating Pretty Cards challenge. It is CPC72 and you can visit their site by clicking HERE. If you have a blog, you can join in and post to their site. Here is the sketch that was designed by Monika:

In addition, a new weekly challenge that has just been started is the Tic Tac Toe Challenge. Here is the first one that was created by fellow Pal, Peggy Noe ~

I chose to follow the far left column with gold, black, and baker's twine included on my card.

To make my card, I started with a 5-1/2" x 4-1/4" base of Garden Green, then added a 5-1/4" x 4" layer of Basic Black. I topped that with a Garden Green print- 5" x 3-3/4" - from our new Christmas Designer Series Paper called Be Merry ~

Following the CPC sketch quite closely, I cut 4 strips of Gold Foil at 5/16" x 3-1/2", and one strip at 1/4"x 3-1/2". I glued them behind a 1-1/2" x 2-1/2" rectangle of Basic Black and  adhered it to the card. Then I glued down a 2-1/2" x 1-3/4" piece of Whisper White.

I cut out two "love" sentiments from the Sunshine Wishes Thinlits, one in Basic Black and one in Gold Foil. I glued them together, offsetting them just a bit. I glued that to the white piece, then finished it off with Baker's Twine in the top left, and two (retired) black candy dots on the right.

Come on...play along! Choose a column - either vertical, horizontal, or diagonal - just like Tic Tac Toe, make your card, and post it HERE.

Have fun with this! I always get lots of great ideas from other stampers' entries through these challenges as well. And isn't that what's it's all about? Sharing our passion with others! I'm looking forward to seeing what you enter!

Have a great weekend!

Karen
