Autumn Quilt for Tic Tac Toe Challenge #16

I kind of surprised myself with this card, as I've never made anything like it before. That is one reason I love to play with card challenges like the Tic Tac Toe Challenge. It pulls designs out of my head that I didn't know were in there!

I picked the diagonal row in this week's board: Metallic, Paper Piece, and Rounded Corners.

My first thought for "paper piece" was my new Quilt Builders Framelits dies. Then "metallic" ~ OK, Gold Foil. Done. And "rounded corners" is self explanatory.

Now to pick the papers. I love the colors in the Painted Autumn DSP pack. And the tiny check piece has a gorgeous combination of Cherry Cobbler, Tangerine Tango, Cajun Craze, and Soft Sky.

To piece the quilt together, I ran four papers through the Big Shot with the Quilt Builder Framelits dies. Then I chose the pattern that I wanted. After gluing it together, I set it aside and built the background.

I rounded the corners and layered Cherry Cobbler over Thick Very Vanilla. Then I rounded the corners of two pieces of the checked DSP. They measure 1-1/2" x 4".  I glued those down, leaving 1/2" of Cherry Cobbler showing on the top and bottom. I added the quilt piece with Dimensionals.

I placed a string of gold tiny sequins and attached it with a Glue Dot. Then I tied a bow out of the Vanilla and Gold Ribbon and glued it down with a Glue Dot. I stamped "friend to friend" from Teeny Tiny Wishes with Cherry Cobbler onto a scrap of Very Vanilla and tucked it under the bow.

I couldn't find a stamp with the sentiment I wanted for the inside, but a quick search on the internet helped me find a quote that I had seen before and had in mind. I printed it out on the computer onto Very Vanilla cardstock, backed it with a Gold Foil border, and added it to the inside:

Have a blessed week! Take some time to stretch your creative wings!
