Pals Blog Hop ~ My Favorite Holiday

Welcome to the Pals September 2017 Blog Hop. Thank you so much for joining us today. This month our theme is “My Favorite Holiday”.  Sit back and enjoy the view while the Pals treat you with projects for the upcoming Autumn and Winter holidays.

Whether you’re just starting the hop, or have come from a previous Pal’s blog, you’ll find the line-up toward the end of my post to help you move along.

I love ALL the holidays, so picking one was difficult! I (of course) love Christmas with all the beautiful decorations and trimmings, not to mention the Reason for the season! But I also love another holiday that doesn't get as much attention as Christmas or even Halloween ~ and that is Thanksgiving. This holiday says "family" and "gathering together" and "giving thanks for all of our blessings" like no other. And the warm earthy colors please my senses. So, for my card today, I picked Thanksgiving!

I started by embossing a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock with the new Pinewood Planks Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. I layered it on top of a Whisper White piece and attached it to a top-folding Crumb Cake card base with Dimensionals.

A 2-1/4" width of Wood Textures DSP created a little table for my basket to sit on. I cut a gold Foil Snowflake in half to use as a doily under the basket.

The basket comes from Basket of Wishes Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped it with Early Espresso ink onto another scrap of Wood Textures DSP and cut it out. Now for the fun part....

The Pick a Pumpkin Bundle comes with these fun images and even more fun thinlits dies.

I stamped the pumpkins, gourd, and leaves onto Whisper White cardstock using Peekaboo Peach, Tangerine Tango, Lemon Lime Twist, and Tranquil Tide ink pads. I have to credit and thank Amy Koenders for this color scheme. I loved her use of them so much, I had to CASE!

The teeny tiny sentiment comes in (you guessed it!) Teeny Tiny Wishes. And to tie in with the shiny gold table mat, I scattered tiny gold stickers from Eastern Gold Vinyl Stickers and topped them with orange sequins.

I finished off the inside with some Washi Tape in Tranquil Tide and Lemon Lime Twist with a sentiment from Basket of Wishes.

This basket of fall goodness was fun to create! I love all of the different elements that Stampin' Up! provides to collage together a unique card for someone special. Happy Thanksgiving and many happy holidays to you!
