Sweet Soiree CASE

Does this card look familiar to you?  I took the design idea right off the cover of the 2018 Occasions Catalog!

CASEing (Copy and Share Everything -or- Copy and Selectively Edit, as I did here) is a fun way to try new techniques that you see. On this card, I did a watercolor wash on the background using my Aqua Painter, some Watercolor Paper, and two ink pads - Berry Burst and Peekaboo Peach.

After letting it completely dry I attached it to a card base of Peekaboo Peach using Fast Fuse. It is important to use a strong adhesive on watercolored paper, since the water tends to warp the paper a bit.

I used the Cake Soiree Bundle for the rest of the card. The cake stand is cropped from a Gold Foil sheet and glued directly to the Watercolor Paper. Next I stamped the cake. It's a two-step process. The cake base is Pink Pirouette and the flowered stamp over the top of the cake is Berry Burst. So pretty!

Then I stamped and cropped out several flowers and leaves from the Sweet Cake Framelits Dies. I arranged them on the top of the cake and held them together using Glue Dots and Dimensionals.

The banner is a 3/4" x 3 1/2" piece of Whisper White cardstock, flagged at both ends and glued on top of the cake.

I haven't decided what occasion I will use this card for yet, so I'm leaving the inside blank for now. I think it would be a beautiful birthday card, or a wedding shower card, or any celebration ~ very versatile!

Give it a try! Look through the catalog, find a picture you like, and CASE away. You will discover some new tricks, and maybe some things that don't work - it's all part of the learning process - and some design elements that you will want to use again and again! Let me know if you have questions. I love to hear from you!

Happy Wednesday to you!

Karen
