Copper Leaves and Hugs

Good morning! It's Wednesday already - this week is zooming by! I spent the day yesterday up in the foothills of California where Fall is in full swing. The air was crisp and the leaves are turning. Deer were grazing, and geese were honking their way across the sky. It was a beautiful setting for the retreat I was attending with my CBS Leadership Team. Ahhhh...now back to the hustle and bustle of the work week!

I love the copper tones for Fall. In this Get Well card I went through all my old DSP bins and pulled out every paper that I could find with copper in it and chose these four for the leaves. I cropped them out using the Seasonal Layers Thinlits.

To assemble the card, I wrapped two strands of Linen Thread and two strips of Coppery Washi Tape around a panel of Cajun Craze then glued it to a layer of Crumb Cake. I adhered those two layers to the Very Vanilla Thick Cardstock base.

I overlapped the leaves and glued them down. I cropped "hugs" out of Early Espresso cardstock three times, using Lovely Words Thinlits, stacked and glued them on top of each other, then glued it to the card front. The tiny dots of coppery shine are Stickles (not SU) in Mercury Glass and Cinnamon.

This card is going to a dear friend who just had knee replacement surgery. I though he could use some "hugs!"

Enjoy the day!
