A Fox for Max

Does anybody else out there have a retired cardstock color that they just can't let go of? Mossy Meadow is mine. It just goes so well with so many things! What's your color?

My sweet little grandson is having a birthday party and he is loving the forest critters, so I made him this happy little fox card! As you can see, it's a gate fold and wait till you see the inside...

Isn't it cute? This little fox always makes me smile!

To make this gatefold card I started with a piece of cardstock that measures 5-1/2" x 8-1/2", then I scored each side at 2-1/8"and folded the 2 ends in toward the middle. I placed the 2nd largest circle from the Layering Circles Framelits where I wanted it and taped it down on one side with repositional tape. I opened the card up and cut 1/2 of the circle out, then closed it up again, taped the framelit to the other half of the card and repeated the process on the other side. Now there is a hole in the middle for the fox to peek out. To cover the front, I cut two strips of Delightful Daisy DSP that measure 1-7/8" x 5-1/4", placed them on the card front and determined where the hole needed to be cut. Repositional tape is your best friend with this technique!

I covered the inside back of the card with Pear Pizzazz.

I picked the Stitched Shape Circle Framelit that was just slightly smaller than the circle framelit I used and cut it out of Whisper White cardstock.  I glued it to the center of the hole.

I stamped the stump with Soft Suede and cut it out. I glued it at the bottom center of the white circle over some Mossy Meadow and Lemon Lime Twist foliage.

Mr. Fox sits on the stump, backed with Stampin' Dimensionals.

The sentiment is from Moon Baby. The tiny heart stamp is from Jar of Love.

I tied the card closed with a length of Calypso Coral 1/8" Sheer Ribbon.

It will go with the forest friends puppets and books that I bought him! So fun!

Have a great weekend, everyone!
