A Gift Card "Wallet"!

A client of mine asked me to make a gift card wallet of sorts that would hold four cards. She said, "It's for my daughter.  Just make it - you know - really cute!"  This is what I came up with.  I hope it's what she had in mind!

Is there any paper cuter than Candy Cane Lane?  I don't think so!  This DSP was so popular this year, that the company has depleted its stock.  I'm so glad I had enough left in my crate for this project.

I made an accordion folding wallet, each side different, and each of the four inside sides containing a pocket for a gift card.  The overall dimensions are 5" x 17 1/2".  Each section measures 5" x 3 1/2". Each pocket measures 3 1/2" x 2 1/2."

I decorated each pocket with sentiments from Tin of Tags and cropped them with the Stitched Shapes Framelits.

I cut a gingerbread man, candy cane, and a pair of mittens from one of the prints and attached them with Mini Glue Dots.  Each pocket opening was punched with just the smallest bit of the Decorative Label Punch.

I alternated the pockets up and down.  I thought it might cut down on the bulk a little.  It's pretty chunky as it is.  The pockets are snug enough that the gift cards won't fall out.

Bits of buttons and ribbons add to the "cuteness" factor.  I also added a red pocket on the back for a note to be added by Mom.

The whole thing is held closed with a belly band.  I used a strip of Crumb Cake, wrapped a length of the red stitched ribbon around it and held it together with Fast Fuse.  A little Baker's Twine bow and a sentiment from Candy Cane Christmas finish it up.  The two little Christmas trees are punched in Early Espresso (I know they look black in this photo!) from a little punch that I have kept from a few years ago.  Maybe you still have it too?

I do hope this fits the bill (or gift card!!).  I'll find out later this morning when I deliver it.  I figure, how can I go wrong with peppermints and gingerbread?!

Just 6 more days till Christmas.  That means only 5 more days to get all the wrapping done.  I have another, smaller gift card holder to share with you on Wednesday.  It hold two cards. Come back to see!

Wishing all of you a sweet season ~

    1. Thanks, Ramsey! She DID love it and mentioned that it's a gift in itself that they can use and re-use. This probably was my favorite holiday paper SU has put out. It just keeps getting better and better! :-)
