Sparkle and Shine ~ It's a Blog Hop!

Welcome to the Pals Blog Hop for December 2016. We are thankful you stopped by to take a look at our new 2016 Blog Hop monthly themes.  This month our projects showcase products that can add sparkle and/or shine for a finishing touch. We hope to provide you with lots of ideas and that you enjoy our creations.
You may just be starting the Blog Hop or may have come from the previous link from the Line-up on the Pals Blog Hop listing shown below.  The full lineup will help you move along from blog to blog so you may see all the projects.

It is so hard to photograph foil and sparkle.  The foil reflects whatever is behind it, and the sparkle never quite looks as bling-y as it does in person.  That being said, here is my card for the December Pals Blog Hop!  It has a lot of shine and a lot of sparkle!  Let me tell you how I did it ~

It started off as an experiment, actually.  I had never heat embossed on foil before, so I thought I'd see if it would work.  What I ended up with is stunningly beautiful!  I used the Gold Foil Paper, Versamark, and iridescent embossing powder.  It melted in, almost leaving an etched look, with different colors that catch the light and dazzle!

My base is Basic Black.  I wrapped a length of 1/8" Gold Ribbon around a 4" x 5 1/4" piece of Fancy Frost Specialty Designer Series Paper and glued it to the base. I used clear Wink of Stella on the raised portions of the Fancy Frost paper. Then I added a 2 1/2" x 5 1/4" piece of Basic Black down the middle.

I added a 2 1/4" x 4 1/4" piece of Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper with rounded corners. I cut the center out of the Glimmer Paper, since it is a little tricky to adhere paper to it. Using Foam Adhesive Strips on the black paper beneath it, I attached the Gold Foil piece. It measures 2" x 4." The sentiment is from Merriest Wishes, heat embossed with Gold Stampin' Emboss Powder.  I flagged and curled the banner with my Bone Folder and attached it with a Dimensional.  Tiny Gold Glimmer Paper stars add even more sparkle to the front and on the inside.

The inside sentiment is from the Wonderful Year stamp set. I heat embossed it with gold powder.

I covered the envelope flap with a piece of black and white print from Pop of Pink Specialty Designer Series Paper.

And that's my card for this month's blog hop.  You can see all of the products I used on it at the very bottom of this post. I hope you will enjoy the rest of the entries.  Grab a cup of coffee, sit back, and scroll through all the wonderful creations that the Pals have prepared for you.
